Based in Delray Beach, Florida, GE Architecture is an award-winning boutique architecture firm known for one-of-a-kind, luxury homes and commercial properties, along with extensive historic preservation work. Our residential expertise includes waterfront home architecture (oceanfront, beachfront, and intracoastal home architecture) and golf course home architecture.

Led by Gary Eliopoulos, GE Architecture has been built entirely on word of mouth and reputation, consistently demonstrating its passion for design and commitment to excellence. Throughout his 30-plus years in architecture, Gary has received numerous “Excellence in Design” awards from the City of Delray Beach Historic Preservation Board as well as the City of Delray Beach Site Plan Review and Appearance Board. Gary has also received the “Pat Cayce Achievement Award” in design and the “Build Florida” award.

While highly-respected in the South Florida area, GE has designed dozens of breathtaking homes, hotels, and other commercial buildings from Key West, Florida, to Bar Harbor, Maine, and all the way to Costa Rica.

Gary Eliopoulos, the firm’s incredibly talented founder, principal, and lead architect, is the heart and soul of GE Architecture.

A premier architect in the South Florida market, Gary has over 30 years of experience designing oceanfront and other luxury homes and commercial properties.

Gary is extremely well-respected in the community of Delray Beach, thanks to extensive involvement in community service and leadership, as well as his passion for architecture and historical preservation. He has lived in Delray Beach since 1985.

Accolades

Gary has received numerous “Excellence in Design” awards from the City of Delray Beach Historic Preservation Board as well as the City of Delray Beach Site Plan Review and Appearance Board. He has also received the “Pat Cayce Achievement Award” in design and the “Build Florida” award.

Expertise

Gary has extensive experience and knowledge in architecture, including design of beach/oceanfront and intracoastal homes, hotels and beach clubs, office buildings, and historic preservation projects. In addition, he is an expert in project management and multi-discipline team coordination, site plan approval applications, presentation drawings, development of contract documents, on-site project administration, and CAD. He has also worked extensively performing code research and interpretation of local, municipal, and federal regulations for construction document development, and project implementation. He leverages his expertise in the area of code research and interpretation, along with hands-on involvement, to facilitate every step of the building process.

Community Service

Gary believes in giving back and has a track record of community service. He has been active in the smart growth of Delray Beach since the 1990s and the master plan for the redevelopment of the downtown area. Gary served as City Commissioner for 4 years (2 terms, including one as Vice Mayor), as well as 7 years on the Planning and Zoning Board (2 terms), 4 years on the Site Plan Review and Appearance Board, and 2 years on the Pineapple Grove Main Street Executive Committee.

In addition, Gary has been involved in numerous other local boards, associations, and architectural review committees, to help write design guidelines and develop architectural standards. Finally, he has served on advisory councils for schools, cultural and tourism development, and currently serves as member of the Palm Beach Housing Finance Authority and board member of the Delray Beach Community Land Trust.

Personality

Gary applies creativity and a can-do attitude to all aspects of his work. Diligent and hard-working, Gary maintains unwavering integrity and a commitment to quality and excellence. At the same time, he is a team player who is reputed to be “easy to work with” and generous with his knowledge.

Gary enjoys getting to know his clients, and by the end of the project, he and his clients are “practically family.” Gary explains that, through the process, he develops a great appreciation for who they are, how they live, and what defines home for them. In his own words, “Sometimes I’m part-therapist, part-architect, and part-problem-solver.”

Education & Training

Gary holds a BA in Architecture from Pratt Institute and also attended Pratt Institute’s Special European Studies program in Rome. He is a registered architect in the states of Florida, Maine, and New Hampshire, and he is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
